Flambó Brings the Scent of Puerto Rico to Philadelphia’s La Placita Fest

Philadelphia, PA — August 1, 2026 — Flambó, a new Puerto Rican fragrance brand inspired by the island’s culture, identity, and spirit, brings its signature fragrance, Parcha Fuerte, to Philadelphia for the city’s third annual La Placita Fest at Liberty Point.

Held along Philadelphia’s waterfront, La Placita Fest celebrates Puerto Rican culture through music, dance, food, vendors, and community. Inspired by the sounds, flavors, and energy of La Placita de Santurce in Puerto Rico, the festival brings a distinctly Puerto Rican experience to Philadelphia.

For Flambó, participating in La Placita Fest represents more than another stop on its growing activation calendar. It is an opportunity to introduce Parcha Fuerte to a community deeply connected to Puerto Rican culture and to share a fragrance created specifically around the idea of identity.

A Fragrance With a Puerto Rican Point of View

Flambó was created around a simple belief: scent can be a powerful expression of who we are and where we come from.

Its signature fragrance, Parcha Fuerte, draws inspiration from Puerto Rico while taking a distinctly modern approach to perfumery. The fragrance combines passionfruit, saffron, Bulgarian rose and olibanum with a rich heart of oud, patchouli and gurjun balsam, finishing with leather, cypriol, amber and vanilla.

The result is a bold, sensual fragrance designed to make an impression.

“Flambó is about more than fragrance,” said Havier Nazario, founder of Flambó. “It is about identity. It is about carrying something from Puerto Rico with you wherever you go. La Placita Fest gave us the opportunity to connect with people who understand that feeling instinctively.”

From Puerto Rico to Philadelphia

Philadelphia has long been home to a vibrant Puerto Rican community, making the city a natural part of Flambó’s journey.

La Placita Fest provides the brand with an environment where Puerto Rican heritage is not simply represented—it is celebrated through music, movement, food, fashion, entrepreneurship and community. The 2026 festival will feature live music, DJs, salsa lessons, cultural performances, food, drinks and merchandise vendors at Liberty Point.

Flambó’s presence adds another expression of Puerto Rican culture to that experience: fragrance.

“Puerto Rican culture travels,” said Nazario. “It travels through our music, our food, our language, our style and our traditions. Flambó is another way of carrying Puerto Rico with you, through scent.”

Flambó’s Philadelphia appearance also carries a special connection to home. Frankie Negrón, the acclaimed Puerto Rican salsa singer and Newark native, represents the rich tradition of Puerto Rican artistry that has emerged from the city Flambó founder Havier Nazario also calls home. From Newark to Philadelphia and ultimately back to Puerto Rico, that shared connection reflects something central to Flambó: Puerto Rican identity does not stay in one place, it travels, evolves, and continues to make its mark wherever our community goes.

Parcha Fuerte by Flambó

Parcha Fuerte is currently Flambó’s signature fragrance and represents the first expression of the brand’s larger vision.

The brand describes itself as a Puerto Rican fragrance brand, independent, culturally rooted and created with the intention of bringing a Puerto Rican point of view to the fragrance industry.

From festival activations and cultural events to direct connections with consumers, Flambó is building its presence one community at a time.

And Philadelphia is only part of the journey.
